Placement Professionals

Is the Launch Pad System right for your client? A clear answer to that question serves the client, you and us. While our staff and senior members have compassion for all who are caught in the madness of addiction and alcoholism, we cannot be all things to all people. We recognize that we have simply arrested a form of insane behavior, in ourselves. Mentally and emotionally challenged people have our empathy but addicts and alcoholics whose additional needs are beyond our abilities to help may not be accepted.

The first requirement for placement in a Launch Pad is diagnosis of addiction/alcoholism. The diagnosis should be described with a written Substance Abuse Disorder Assessment administered by a certified substance abuse professional, and dated later than the client’s last relapse. Your client should sign a release form to allow this communication. If this documentation cannot be provided, the accepted applicant may be required to obtain it, along with a treatment plan, in order to advance in the Launch Pad program.

The most common cause for declining admission to a prospective member is drug dependence. Even if a legally prescribed medication is indicated for your client, its effects could be a threat to our primary mission. If impulse control is markedly compromised by any substance or condition; or ability to effectively control behavior depends on regular medication, a potential resident may be rejected.

All Launch Pad members must continue to meet employment, financial and behavioral standards to advance through successively more liberal phases of monitoring.
